Distributed by WMG – Tyscot Records is the oldest existing African-American gospel music recording label – was born 40 years ago this year when Dr. Leonard Scott and his nephew Craig Tyson founded the company as a distribution channel in 1976 for the debut project by their church’s choir, The Christ Church Apostolic Radio Choir. Now the anniversary is celebrated with a newly recorded music video version of “Feel Good’ done by Dr. Leonard Scott ft. Demetrius West & Authority.
In celebration of four decades of Tyscot, hits by artists ranging from Deitrick Haddon and Anthony Brown & group therAPy to The Rance Allen Group and Casey J are featured on the label’s commemorative album “FEEL GOOD! 40 YEARS OF LIFE-CHANGING MUSIC.”
The lead single from the fifteen-track collection is Dr. Scott’s remake of “Feel Good” with backing by the Indianapolis-based choir, Demetrius West and Authority. This high-energy music video of “Feel Good!” was filmed in downtown Indianapolis with an enthusiastic, multi-racial cross-section of locals coming together to sing, dance and joyously express how good they feel about God’s saving grace.
