Jesus taught us in scripture that if we want to be great in life, we have to serve other people (Mark 10:43). In this encouraging message, Joel reminds us of the very wisdom Jesus taught. Many people are not happy in life because they’re only focused on themselves—their dreams, their goals or their problems. But this type of living is very limiting. We were created to give and live outward. God has put people in your life on purpose so you can be a blessing to them. Every morning, we should ask, “God, what is my assignment today? Help me see the people You want me to be good to.” Matthew 6:4 says, “Your Father, who sees what you give in secret, will reward you in the open.” It’s a promise. When you give of your time and bless others, God will bless you in return. You will live a more fulfilled life and have the satisfaction of making someone else’s life better, too!
