sermon notes:
her message causes the city of Samaria suddenly to stop and take attention
God uses her in spite of her sorted past to be evangelistic because she’s had a Jesus encounter
God will use something that once worked against you to work for the Kingdom of God
He said, “I must need go through Samaria”
The Samaritans didn’t worship Jehovah nor serve Him as God.
They didn’t believe in Jesus or accept Him as the Messiah.
Traditional orthodox Jews had no dealings with the Samaritans.
Jesus goes to an idolatrous place and sits there all day waiting on a woman to come down to the well.
He knew that she was a point of initiation.
She is a seed.
He rejoices over the seed.
My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me.
There are barriers between the Jews and the Samaritans.
God says I have a plan even for the people you don’t like.
When you are truly a teacher you will use every opportunity to teach.
People who always put their blessing ahead of them never reach their blessing.
Your perception always puts my power in the future.
Four types of people:
1. Watchers
2. Waiters
I came across this while I was looking for a sermon by Bishop Jakes. Appearantly he wrote this at the end of 2008. Now here we are at the end of 2009 and I know that there are those of us, if not all, that some portion of this will still speak to.
Hope you Enjoy!
There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.
The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]
People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.
Let them go.
And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you’ve got to know when people’s part in your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s over. Let me tell you something. I’ve got the gift of good-bye. It’s the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it. Stop begging people to stay.
Let them go!!
If you are holding on to something that doesn’t belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to past hurts and pains…………
LET IT GO!!!
If someone can’t treat you right, love you back, and
see your worth…..
LET IT GO!!!
If someone has angered you.
LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction……
LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents
LET IT GO!!!
If you have a bad attitude…..
LET IT GO!!!
If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better……
LET IT GO!!!
If you’re stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him……..
LET IT GO!!!
If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship…….
LET IT GO!!!
If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help themselves……
LET IT GO!!!
If you’re feeling depressed and stressed………………
LET IT GO!!!
If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying ‘take your hands off of it,’ then you need to…..
LET IT GO!!!
Let the past be the past. Forget the former things. GOD is doing a new thing for 2009 (There is still time left, if not then we carry on in 2010)
LET IT GO!!!
Get Right or Get Left … think about it, and then.
LET IT G O!!!
‘The Battle is the Lord’s!’
Did anyone read this at the end of last year and take heed to the advice?
What is your testimony from this past year? Share with us something you “Let Go”. How did it word out for you? We would love to hear!
Is there something you are going to “Let Go” at the end of this year. What results do you pray to attain?
Lately I have been receiving a lot of requests from friends on Facebook and Twitter asking for books to add to their reading list. Now while I do like to read, I can’t say that I have ever compiled a list of books that I wanted to read. Yet it seems like a “2010 Reading List” is the thing to have ready as we approach the New Year. Is Oprah responsible for this?
Normally unless I, or my Mother, have already read a book I try not to recommend it to anyone else. However, Bishop TD Jakes has a new book out entitled “The Memory Quilt: A Christmas Story Of Our Times”
From the excerpts and overviews that I have read it has all the makings of a great novel. As I stated before I have not read the book, so I will not try to give you an overview as I am sure I could not do it any justice based off of the excerpts I have read. However, IF i were to have a “2010 Book List” this would be at the top.
FYI- For all you late shoppers this could make an excellent Christmas present for the bookworm in your family! If you are the bookworm and have a few days off for the Holiday, pick up it up! Read it! Then come back here and let me know what you think!
Be Blessed

Have you read this book? What did you think? Share your thoughts I am eager to read them!
I’ll make a more recommendations later on. If you have a must read, leave a comment. Perhaps we can have an Online Fellowship 2010 Book List. I like the sound of that so please add your favorites here.
Also for my tech savvy readers this book is also available for the new Kindle.
