Thought for the Day: Jesus and The School Supplies

With back to school swiftly approaching many parents are scurrying through the stores grabbing supplies so that our children are prepared for the first day of school. One supply that we know every child will need is paper. They will draw, write, cut and create on hundreds of pieces of paper a year. We will see their progress, where they need work and what they are being taught by these pieces of paper that they bring home that were once blank. Some will have eraser marks, some will be near perfect, others may end up on the refrigerator. But they will all need it and when we factor the cost a pack of 150 sheets cost us about .06 cent a sheet. Each day as they begin their day they will need blank pieces of paper that we supplied for them because we love them and we want them to be prepared and learn their lessons.
If you think about it, we have the chance to be like blank sheets of paper each and every moment of the day. Jesus died for us so that we too can learn our lessons, be good students and be prepared. He gave his life so that everyday we can begin our day in the school of life prepared. When we go to Christ and confess our sins and then ask for forgiveness he in turn gives us a fresh sheet of paper. We can then start to draw, write, cut and learn our lessons. Many of us have had paper with eraser marks where we tried to fix a problem on our own. A line through some words where we wanted to act as if an issue never occurred and even near perfect pages that we want to post on the refrigerator to show how good we were. However as we go through our days and worries, burdens and guilt get to heavy for us to handle. We need to keep in mind that Our Father wants us to be prepared and astute so that we can go to Him and pray at any time for a blank sheet of paper. The biggest differences being we have way more than 150 sheets, he paid a much higher price than .06 cent a sheet. He gave his entire life for our supplies.
Be Blessed

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
* Disclaimer: At some point it will be time for all of us to “put down our pencils and turn in our work”. There will be no more time to write or make corrections so don’t waste your life running around asking/using God’s forgiveness in order to live a life of sin. Act right, do right! He gave us a text book with instructions in it as well. Be cool follow those rules! 🙂
